The good news of Jesus Christ is at the heart of what we do here at Levanta and the motivation for all of our programs. We seek to provide everyone involved with Levanta the opportunity to learn what the Bible says and how they can know God personally. In Matthew 16:26, Jesus says "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?". We believe that helping others with physical needs is important work, but that pointing people to Christ is the most important work that we can do.
All of the students in our English program, Tutoring program and Sports program are also part of a weekly Bible study led by one of our Dominican staff members. Our leaders mentor these students one-on-one and seek to be a positive role model in their lives.
Levanta also offers adult Bible studies open to all members of our community. Our staff teaches Biblical concepts to those interested in learning more about God. We love giving others the opportunity to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and the grace and mercy that God offers to us all!
Our Dominican staff also conducts home visits with families and people involved in our programs. They take time to get to know people, to pray for them, to lead Bible studies and to encourage these families in the Lord as they wrestle with the issues of life.
In addition, Levanta hosts different outreach events throughout the year for young children and adolescents in our area. We communicate God's love for them while singing songs, playing games, and enjoying all kinds of fun activities.
