One of the goals of Levanta Ministries is to provide opportunities for others to rise above their current situation. One of the ways we do this is by creating employment where people can use their gifts and talents to make products that are sold to boutiques in the States.
Meet Lucia. She is our head seamstress and is incredibly talented! She has used her talents as a seamstress to bless others all her life. She began sewing when she was a young child in Haiti, using charcoal from the coals of the fire to make patterns for her dolls. Now, Levanta Ministries employs Lucia to sew handbags and to train others.
Levanta Ministries uses donated fabric and coffee sacks from various vendors as our raw materials. Lucia and our other workers use these materials to create a variety of products and accessories. All of the revenue generated from these sales goes directly back into the ministry to help provide employment and support our efforts in the Dominican Republic.
Levanta products can now be found in these boutiques! Please visit them, support their business and tell them Levanta sent you their way!
